Frederico Giunchetti graduated in Electrical Engineering, post-graduated and Master of Science in Automation and Industrial Electrical Systems. He started his career in Unilever, holding various roles in the areas of Projects, Maintenance, TPM and Manufacturing for 10 years. After moving to Novartis / Sandoz, he has been taking on responsibilities in a number of different Engineering positions in Latin America and Europe for the last 18 years. Currently, he’s appointed as Head Maintenance & Asset Reliability in Sandoz, responsible for Assets Maintenance in 18 sites in the network and the overall business process ownership for Maintenance and Calibration.
The Pop in my job: I`m fascinated by continuous improvement and I see Maintenance as a PDCA cycle, as a continuous process to be improved every single day, not at all as a routine job. My motivation comes from making people also understand this mindset, and truly live as they want to make it better in every moment, so that we as individuals and our Company can be better today than we were yesterday. And in Sandoz, I have the opportunity to pursue this vision.
I am a passionate Maintenance, Reliability, and Turnaround (MRTA) Expert with extensive experience in maintenance execution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in some of the world’s largest oil and gas integrated projects and petrochemical facilities (Shell, LyondellBasell, and Takeda).
My expertise spans maintenance planning and execution, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), equipment criticality analysis, FMEA, and the development and implementation of asset tactics in SAP. I have hands-on experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams, risk and reliability management (RRM), and integrity assurance through systems like CIMS (Corrosion and Inspection Management).
Notable achievements include receiving Shell’s Upstream International Special Award for elevating an onshore processing facility to the proactive level in maintenance execution—a first in Shell's history.
Additionally, I bring deep knowledge of Operational Readiness and Assurance (OR&A), including CSU (Commissioning and Start-Up) activities, as well as operational reliability improvement initiatives like ORIP and IAP (Integrated Activity Planning).
I lead by example, championing HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and leveraging global experience across six countries and three continents. My leadership style is driven by authenticity and a commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive teams.
I am an IT Manager with experience in the following industries: Pharma, Government, Banking and TelCo. I have a strong propensity for technological innovation, and its use inside companies to proactively contribute to processes improvement along the entire value chain.
