The presentation outlines the processes and strategies at Takeda’s site in Lessines, Belgium to decrease the impact to environment in manufacturing. As manufacturing industries such as the pharmaceutical industry have an immense carbon footprint, there must be new strategies to have a positive impact on the environment. For example, Digitalization enhances processes and reduces environmental impact, with the facility operating fully paperless and utilizing virtual tours, digital procedures, and augmented reality to ensure precision and efficiency. Committed to environmental sustainability, Takeda has achieved carbon neutrality across its value chain and aims for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, while also prioritizing responsible water and waste management practices.
